What Is Indoor Air Pollution?

Indoor air pollution is any particles that are in your air, which shouldn’t be. For example, if you have a wood burning stove, you’ll be introducing small particles of burned and unburned fuel into your air every time you open the door. You’ll also be increasing the rate of carbon monoxide, a gas that can be fatal in high doses.

Another good example is pet dander. This is the tiny pieces of skin that flake off and mix with your air. For the most part, they are not an issue; however, if you have allergies, they can cause you a severe problem.

It is also a good idea to add a dehumidifier to your home. This will reduce the moisture content in the air. As moisture is a key ingredient for mold and other life forms, reducing it will help to ensure these pollutants do not appear in your home.

Of course, it’s impossible to eliminate all pollutants in your home but, by following the above steps, and performing regular air quality checks, you can improve it which will benefit your health, and that of your family.
