Ganesh Chaturthi marks the birth of the elephant God who is widely revered as Ganpati Bappa by His deities. It is a 10 day festival, which generally falls in the month of August or September. This year Bappa will be welcomed at our homes on 13th September (Thursday). In this auspicious festival, Ganesha clay idols are placed in homes or society by creating a temporary stage. The festival ends on the tenth day, thereupon the idol is carried in a public procession with entertaining music and immersed in a nearby river or ocean.
