How To Maximize The Space In Your Man Cave

Space In Your Man Cave

It is the dream of just about every man to have a space of their own where they are free to do guy stuff. This is why the idea of setting up a man cave has become such a popular topic over the last few years. The only problem that many guys have is that they are only allowed a little bit of space.

Usually, guys try to carve out a little bit of space in a garage, shed, or basement to lock themselves away and watch the movies they want, or all the sports they can handle. Which makes it a challenge since there is limited space.

To really get the most out of a man cave, you have to make the most out of the space itself. In this article, we will go over several tips to help you organize the man cave so you have a lot more room.

Have Furniture Do Double Duty

One of the biggest factors in how big or small a man cave is going to feel will heavily depend on how well you do storage. A cluttered man cave is not going to make you want to spend time there. Rather, having it organized and tidy is what makes it an ideal location to go and get away from the rest of the house.

This is why you need to maximize what your furniture can do besides just being a couch or table. It should also be able to provide storage solutions. For example, an ottoman coffee table will allow you to put your feet up and relax while also providing a space for things like the remotes, magazines, and other assorted things that can be stashed away.

The sofa should have some drawers underneath that slide out, or the cushions that can be removed and have bins inside that can be used for things like blankets or even gear that you frequently use in the man cave.

Maximize The Floor Space

The biggest limitation to setting up your man cave comfortably is going to be the floor space. You can only fit so much of what you need to be comfortable on a small floor. This is why you need to get stuff off of the floor to get the most out of it.

For starters, the TV should be hung from the wall instead of on a stand. This frees up several feet that you may need to stretch out your legs if the couch is tight to the wall. Also, get floating shelves that can take a lot of your stuff from the floor and keep it clear for other things.

Less Is More

Try to keep the stuff that you have in your man cave to a minimum so it doesn’t get cluttered even with proper storage. Have an idea of what you want to do while in there and make sure you keep the stuff there for that purpose.

For instance, if you plan to use it for card nights mostly, then make sure you have it set up so the card table is ready to go and not use the space to fill up with other things that make it hard to enjoy the card game.
