The mattress is essential for comfortable and proper sleep. And on the mattress, we not only sleep but do many more activities due to which it needs to be cleaned and maintained.
On a mattress, there can be a problem of bloodstain, which looks horrible, and thus you must remove the bloodstain from the mattress such that it looks clean and fresh.
When there are bloodstains on the mattress, here are some simple steps to clean the bloodstains off the mattress:
You will need hydrogen peroxide to clean. Use the hydrogen peroxide and apply to the mattress and blot it while it is bubbling. Then again, blot it with a clean and dry cloth.
This will lighten the stain on the mattress.
Further, rub the stain with a tenderizer from the pantry, which will remove the proteins. In case you still see a stain, then rinse and follow up rust removal, which will remove iron found in the blood.
Add salt to plain water and pour the solution into any spray bottle, which is very useful in removing the fresh bloodstains.
Baking soda solution: this is also a handy solution where you need to mix one part of the baking soda with two parts of the cold water. Apply on the area using a clean cloth. Let it sit there for thirty minutes. Clean the area with a damp cloth in cold water and rinse the solution and then dry the area with a dry towel which will absorb moisture.
Take liquid dishwashing detergent and mix it in with cold water. One tablespoon of detergent and two cups of water will make a solution. Soak a white cloth in the solution and apply it to the affected area. Gently brush the affected area with a toothbrush. Rinse the solution by blotting with a wet cloth and then towel dry the area.
